Medical Imaging Facilities:
Imaging facility is a newly introduced Unit at the ORC that provides the state-of-the-art technology for the detailed assessment of body fat, in addition to highly-sensitive ultrasound equipments for abdominal and vascular scanning. This sophisticated piece of equipments will greatly support both the on-going and the future research projects at the ORC.
1. Dual Energy X-ray Absorptiometry (DXA) Scan
We have one of the latest versions of DXA equipment which is Discovery QDR Series HOLOGIC. The Hologic QDR® Series bone densitometers combine the proven major research value as well as the clinical value. DXA scans are far better for the assessment of obesity than the conventional BMI calculation or waist circumference measurement. By using DXA scan, we can accurately and simultaneously measure body fat, muscle mass and bone density.
2. Diagnostic Ultrasound System “SIEMENS ACUSON S2000”
The ACUSON S2000 ultrasound system is designed to streamline clinical workflow from image acquisition to archival in a diagnostic setting for general imaging, vascular and cardiac applications. The system supports software-based applications, exam-specific imaging presets, measurements, body markers, annotations, patient reports, and system diagnostics.
3. Diagnostic Ultrasound System “SAMSUNG Accuvix A30”
Accuvix A30 establishes a new benchmark for state-of-the-art imaging, offering the world's first 21.5-inch full HD LED monitor, enriched 3D performance, increased detection rates, unparalleled automation, a sensitive interface and a forward-looking ergonomic design.
